In reply to: Disappearing postsThanks WPyogi. It’s encouraging if you see you post without answers but not good when you don’t see them at all. First one was like 6 hours ago so that had me wondering.

In reply to: Registering a domain nameIt’s kind of like buying insurance. What matters at the end of the day is getting your service. You just want someone who can provide the service you need effectively at an affordable cost to you.
iPage was recommended to me, they have a nice friendly support staff and great prices. You can try them out and like I said mention Lookupyoursite.com so I can get a little credit. Also, go to Youtube, type in web domains and you will get some good clips.
You will own the Domain name and they ‘rent’ you a share/storage unit for you to operate from as long as you pay.
Hope it helps.Forum: Everything else WordPress
In reply to: Registering a domain nameYou can register your Domain Name with any Domain Registrar or Web Hosting Service that offers it. Google Domain registration for more information.
Ipage is a good place to start, they usually have good promotions and their staff is very helpful.
If you decide to go with them, tell them the good people at lookupyoursite.com sent you and they might hopefully give me some credit for that. Good luck.Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: Please review my website! Thanks for the suggestions. Actually, I never even thought about fonts and sizes. Most of the stuff was taken from other websites, adding flesh to the skeleton. I will keep that in mind but most of them seem to be under 14 except for the headlines. Not too sure if it has to do with your screen resolution but I will take another look at work on multiple monitors tomorrow. As they say, he who does not listen to others ‘learneth’ not.
Thanks again.Forum: Your WordPress
In reply to: Please review my website!Just to let you all know I finally managed to get something going with a free WP account. The site is [Link removed]
Will appreciate a review, the whole thing is fictitious but I just wanted to have a better grasp of things.Answer from a newbie – You can substitute the header image of the 2010 theme with the cover of your book through your WP dashboard.
To make the new header image link to the Amazon store you will have to create an HTML link, e.g. (Visit W3Schools) and ‘attach’ it to the header image.
I don’t know how to do this directly in wordpress but I know you can use a Web editing tool like Dreamweaver to do it and then ‘put’ it on your site.
Hopefully, one of the experts will let us know if this can be done directly in WordPress.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Theme purchasedGlad you are improving, practice makes perfect. I am also new but I am crawling along. Good Luck.
Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Theme purchasedDid you do this on a localhost or real web server and did you activate your theme? I am new to WP myself, I get two themes with every new set up
I also got a bunch of free and paid for themes when I did the free sign up stuff but generally you will have to activate/save a theme to get to it later under your dashboard.
