In reply to: WP admin toolbar comment feed box glitchingI wanted to update in case anyone else has this problem. I found a thread on the Jetpack support forum where they’re working on the issue.
https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/pull/29755
I was able to fix it by unchecking ‘Prevent cross-site tracking’ in my browser settings.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: WP admin toolbar comment feed box glitchingI’ll do that. Thank you!

In reply to: WP admin toolbar comment feed box glitchingThank you for your quick response!
I checked and everything is up to date.
I tried switching to a new theme and deactivating all other plugins. The glitch did disappear completely when Jetpack was disabled, but even with only enabling Jetpack, it still glitches; I see it pop up and then go away. No matter what I tried, it never stopped disappearing.
I’m assuming that means it’s a Jetpack issue?
Thank you for your help!Thank you @bruceallen I haven’t had a lot of traffic to check it thoroughly, but it appears to be working. Yay!

In reply to: Follower comments posting as ‘anonymous’Oh ok, thank you for keeping me in the loop! Every day there seems to be a new issue, which is so frustrating.

In reply to: Follower comments posting as ‘anonymous’I’ve noticed, as well, that when I try to comment on some other wordpress blogs (who also appear to be having the ‘anonymous’ issue), I get an error message and my comment won’t post. I switched over to Chrome from Safari and finally got my comments to go through. So could it possibly be an issue with the new Safari update and WordPress??

In reply to: Follower comments posting as ‘anonymous’Yes, it is! I’ve noticed it on several other blogs, as well. It’s so strange.

In reply to: Follower comments posting as ‘anonymous’Hi Eden,
Thank you for letting me know! My issue also started on Aug 18. It’s nice to know it’s not something I did. Hopefully we’ll get this figured out soon!

Hi,
I chatted with Bluehost and they said Cloudflare is not enabled on my website. I was really hoping that was it. But I currently have it set on HTTP_X_Forwarded_For. I have no idea if that’s the one I should be using?
Bluehost did suggest a few selections to change on my WordPress settings so I’m hoping maybe that will help, too.
Thanks for responding!
Thank you for trying to help!
I actually already have that plug-in installed and it shows everything to be good. I’ve been trying to figure out this problem for months, but like you said it’s challenging when some comments go through and others don’t. I just have to wait until someone lets me know that they weren’t able to comment, which makes testing different plug-ins a challenge.
I do know I used to receive numerous spam comments every day but now I receive none. I would rather receive all comments and just manually approve them then have them blocked.
I’ll keep working on it.
Thanks!
It’s been off. I never had that option selected.
As I said in my original comment, changing the ip retrieval selection has helped allow some comments, but it appears others are still getting blocked.
