Hi Rose,
Thank you for getting in touch with us.
We are aware that not all of our customers are able to consume macrons and in order to support their needs we have a filter which, when included in API calls, will tell our system to return ASCII characters in place of those macron containing characters. (eg, ō = O, ā = a etc). Note, the filter does not exclude macron containing addresses from the results but translates the macron characters within these addresses into the ASCII format.
The filter is ascii=1 and it can be included on any of our APIs (address autocomplete, address metadata, address verification etc). For example: https://api.addressfinder.io/api/nz/address/autocomplete/?key=xxxx&secret=yyyyy&q=184%20will&format=json&ascii=1&strict=2
It can also be included in our widget code so that only ASCII characters are returned there also. An example of the ASCII related changes can be seen in lines 7 and 8 of the JS box in this code example – https://codepen.io/addressfinder/pen/RzboxW.
If you have any further trouble please do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind regards,
Thanks for your continuous testing. Could you please contact us at [email protected]? Thanks
Thanks for submitting your concern.
I can confirm that our extension has been added in the recommended way according to the official documentation.
If any further concerns, you are welcome to view our source code, the extension is open source.
Thanks,

Hey, this might be something that AddressFinder support can help with, you are welcome to contact us at [email protected]. Please provide some details on which versions of WordPress and WooCommerce you are using when this happens. Thanks.
Hi Barry,
Thanks for your question.
Our plugin watches the country select field and activates when either AU or NZ are selected. When UK/US/CN etc are selected the plugin remains silent and therefore would not conflict with other plugins you might make use of.
I believe the tricky part would actually be in preventing your other plugin from working when AU or NZ are selected as these would conflict on the page. I am not in a position to help with this but would hope the other plugin is easy to configure.
Thanks,
Matt
Hi clk87,
I don’t know if there is a conflict between the plugin and your ‘multisite’ website but the first thing I would check is if you have activated the plugin after installing it.
I realise this step is an obvious one but often it is the obvious ones which are easiest to miss.
If activation is not the issue then unfortunately the plugin will not be the solution for you. Another option could be to make use of the AddressFinder widget, configure this for your site and then add the code to your checkout.

Thanks,
Matt

In reply to: [WooCommerce Address Validation and Autocomplete | Addressfinder] Cart PageHi @kds26
Cool website by the way!
We have had a few customers who have enquired about using our plugin on the cart page. At this stage, we have been suggesting to our customers that they use our AddressFinder widget code (different from the WooCommerce plugin) and configure their cart page to include this.
We have some sample code that has been used by other customers to get this going. If you’d like us to share that with you – please send us an email at:
Kind Regards,
Nigel

In reply to: [WooCommerce Address Validation and Autocomplete | Addressfinder] Cart PageHi @kds26
This is not a feature we have considered, but we are interested to know more about it. Are you able to share a URL to your store, so we can investigate how you have the cart configured please?
Kind Regards
Nigel

In reply to: [WooCommerce Address Validation and Autocomplete | Addressfinder] Cart PageHi @kds26
My apologies – I am sorry to say that the AddressFinder plugin is only activated on the checkout page, not the cart page as I had suggested.
We may not be able to help you out sorry.
Kind Regards
Nigel

In reply to: [WooCommerce Address Validation and Autocomplete | Addressfinder] Cart PageHello @kds26,
Yes, the AddressFinder plugin works on the cart page. Your customer will start typing in their address, and our service will display matching addresses as they type.
When they select the correct address, the plugin with populate the various form fields (including postcode and suburb) with the address elements.
You can see a working example of this behaviour here:

Kind Regards,
Nigel
Hi Alex, sorry we have no plans to support Chinese addresses.
Just Australian and New Zealand addresses at this stage.
We have plugins for a number of different platforms, as well as regular address fields on generic websites. You can see all the platforms we support here:
