In reply to: [Classic Widgets] Blocks are disgusting ??Yep totally agree. I did use blocks on a site as the site didn’t need a page builder and we were trying to remove bloat. I had to add a ton of custom css to get the blocks to work. It’s like they asked someone who had never used one of the many amazing page builders to build something from scratch. Why didn’t they learn from the experiences of others?? And yeah a lot of us keep moaning at any opportunity but clearly a lot of us feel that we’ve never been able to have a proper say over what’s happening when we’re the ones daily boosting the wordpress numbers with our clients.

In reply to: [Asset CleanUp: Page Speed Booster] ExcellentAah that’s amazing thank you so much for the fast reply and super fast fix. Great service, definitely worth going premium for sites that need that edge. I couldn’t have got decent page speeds scores without it.
Thanks for the reply. I’ll have a play around with a test site.
As I say main current frustration is needed to repeatedly explain to shop owners that Jetpack is not essential to Woocommerce.

In reply to: [Gutenberg] Simply FantasticIt’s good to hear that the experience is good for an individual user. Most of the criticism comes from developers who develop with WordPress on a daily basis.
Gutenberg has been driven by giving end users an easy way to create nice posts in a smooth way to try and compete with other website builders. Gutenberg has not been driven by making developers lives easier. For those of us who use wordpress to create complex web applications gutenberg currently just doesn’t have any of the needed depth, and neither should it. If they’d created it as an opt-in, instead of an opt-out, there would be much less complaint.

In reply to: [Gutenberg] Pretty but almost entirely unwantedHey Tammie,
Thanks for taking the time to read my comment ??
I think for me I’d love to see a metabox draw/page/slider etc that could handle woocommerce as it’s a pretty good example of how complicated stuff gets on posts, even in a basic form just to show the future will support continued use of wordpress for complex apps,
Many thanks and best wishes with the plugin!Abi

Thanks for the tip I’ve just had this issue appear out of nowhere with WAMP. Adding
[mysqld]
port = 3306
sql_mode=NO_ENGINE_SUBSTITUTIONat the end and restarting did the trick.

In reply to: [Timeline Express] Can't change timeline text anymoreCool many thanks again. It could really be a number of things. It’s an older version of wordpress (client unhappy spending for the time needed etc) and it’s likely a GB copy.
Thanks again!!

In reply to: [Timeline Express] Can't change timeline text anymoreDon’t suppose there’s any way to get a copy of version 1.1? Everything has been working fine for last 18 months….until the client decided to do some updating….
