My apologies Boone Gorges. I thought I had posted my issue and it went unanswered. In fact I was posting on the BB Digest Support. I am now going to post on here – apologies for my earlier vague comments.

In reply to: [WP Password Policy Manager] User Passwords ExpiringThanks for getting back to me.
Yes I updated it yesterday and the problem does still persist. It locked me out of the admin account as soon as I pressed the button – and due to unrelated mail server issues I couldn’t log in there until I figured another way to change my password (which I have done).
I had thought that the first setting, expiring passwords after a length of time might have caused the problem (as I entered 6 months which I thought perhaps was not a valid time frame) but I’ve emptied that field and it still continues to say that password expired 1 minute ago.
Hope you can help.
Thanks. Not on my site. The only solution is to try it and see. If you look on the plugin page, it tells you the last time it was updated and it was long before WP 4.0 and BP 2.1 so there are bound to be compatibility issues. Developers are MIA though…?
At this rate we’d be lucky to have this plugin working, let alone have new features. It’s not worked for me for months now. I’d really appreciate it simply being compatible with WP 4.0 now.

In reply to: [BuddyPress Sitewide Activity Widget] Ok but not enoughThanks, I will test again and update my rating.
It means the user (could be you too) sets their group email options on the front end, i.e. the group/forum home page. So let’s say you have a group “all users”. On the main forum page for that group it has a title at the top, then something like this:
Public Group active 5 days, 14 hours ago
A group description
Your email status is All Email (change)The last part is where you edit your email option on the “front end”. So to answer your first question, there’s no need for a widget, the plugin builds in to the buddypress/bbpress interface.
Buddypress>Group Email Options
It goes without saying that you should have Buddypress installed first. It happened to me on my host (names.co.uk) as they don’t allow the xml scripts :
Good Morning,
The plugin Jetpack sadly isn’t compatible on our Shared Hosting Platform. The standard xmlrpc.php script is quite commonly installed with many free blogging. Unfortunately, it is quite easy to exploit and often abused by amateur ‘hackers’ and spamming groups for malicious purposes.
A number of plugins still use xmlrpc.php and the solution is normally to rename the xmlrpc.php file to another file name. However Jetpack requires the file to always be called xmlrpc.php and these changes won’t work.
Maybe it’s the same for bluehost?

In reply to: Error – Warning message on White screen of deathThanks for that. I think actually it may not be the big problem, as I made a mistake with the database when I imported it so I will try again and see where it gets me .

In reply to: Error – Warning message on White screen of deathThanks for that – amazingly never come across this as I followed the “where to start” part of the codex which suggests xampp but then doesn’t tell you what to do after!
I will try some of these steps and see if it resolves white screen. Made an error with the database though so I’m going to see if I can re-import the backup of it and use a search and replace tool to change my links instead of using notepad, so I don’t cause any database errors.
Thanks for the help.
