@miniwi – marking this as resolved since it was not an issue with the plugin but rather a limitation of your hosting provider. Any other questions, just ask on these support forums. Thx.

@reanderson – this is a common request for your host. Typically, you can either submit a support ticket or use their live chat option and ask them to enable that library / enable cron jobs. Hope that helps.

@schneidan – thanks for confirming. We were banging our heads trying to recreate ?? Glad to know nothing was wrong and simply a config update by host. Thank you!!

I’m going to assume @mullenable has the same issue and same resolution given the characteristics described.

Marking this thread as resolved. Thx.

@schneidan or @mullenable – if you get a chance, can you please respond with the requested details:

    1) WP Version?
    2) Please confirm you’re using latest version of Content Resharer?
    3) What other plugins do you have on site (full list) – do any of them mess with cron jobs?
    4) Site URL (if willing to share here)
    5) Name of hosting provider? Also, do you know if your host has cURL and/or PHP Cron disabled?

Happy to help you gentlemen, and will await details. Thank you.

Hi @mullenable – since you are also having this problem, maybe there’s a common denominator between your site configuration and previous person. We’re also going to look into this on our side, but can you help with the following information from your site:

    1) WP Version?
    2) Please confirm you’re using latest version of Content Resharer?
    3) What other plugins do you have on site (full list) – do any of them mess with cron jobs?
    4) Site URL (if willing to share here)
    5) Name of hosting provider?

Once we receive this information, we’ll try to replicate your scenario to the extent possible and let you know what we discover.

Thanks for replying back. Just for our reference, can you let us know which host has this limitation so we know for the future?

Hi @miniwi – Looks as though there may be a conflict with loading scripts on your site. The plugin requires the basic requirements for WordPress listed here.

A really quick way to check if this is caused by a third party theme or plugin conflict is to simply deactivate all your plugins, except Follow Us Badges, and see if the options panel displays properly therafter. If so, then the issue is caused by one of your other plugins, and you can proceed to turn them on one-by-one to determine which plugin is causing the issue. You can also test on a different theme as a quick test to see if the theme has conflicts.

The plugin is currently running on over 5,000+ WP installs so I don’t think it’s an issue related to our plugin. However, if after you perform the above troubleshooting steps you’re still having issues, let us know and we’ll assist with next steps.

Yes. They need to be contributors as that role typically defines the status of ‘Pending Review’ when submitted.

Hello – I see you left a 1-star review without asking for assistance. We would have been happy to help you get this free plugin setup had there been additional information provided.

    1) You mentioned “For some reason, the plugin kept prompting me to allow access to my admin account in order to use all of the features.” ==> We’re not sure what you are referring to as there is NO REASON WHATSOEVER that the plugin needs your wp admin credentials. So please review it again when you have a moment as we would appreciate this statement be corrected so as to not mislead other users. The plugin is stand-alone and all features are included. There’s no limitation. Are you sure you are not referring to another third party plugin?

    2) You further stated “However I tried the plugin on another site, and it broke the theme.” – – > Given the plugin has zero to do with theme appearance and has zero front-end functionality, and we have never once received such an inquiry, please allow us to investigate this further by providing the name of the ‘theme’ you had and we’ll have our team test it on that specific theme. In short, the plugin has no front end functionality so it is not likely to ever break a theme. Therefore, it’s important to us to validate such statements if they are true.

    Thank you.

@reanderson and @schneidan – We’re happy to help. As you can see on these forums, every issue ever reported has been resolved.

Since we have not had others report the issue you described, can you provide more information regarding your settings?

@reanderson – to check the debug log, somply click “Reshare Now” and the next screen will display the result. The context of that screen will provide insight into what could potentially be causing the issue.

@schneidan – The issue you describe about not posting on schedule is likely due to your server’s cron job settings. Some servers limit the frequency of cron jobs for WordPress as a whole. The plugin requires that your server run the cron jobs (it’s the only way) to achieve the intended result.

If you can provide more information, then we can provide more productive assistance. Without a chance to do so, it’s impossible to help users for free.

    Thank you.

Hey Lance – This is an old post, and I see everything works fine on both your sites. I’m marking this ticket as resolved. All the best!

Sorry for the very delayed response. This is an old ticket but better late than never to leave a response.

Active Theme or Plugin – You cannot alter existing image sizes created by your theme or other third party plugins (as that resides in theme’s files or the third party plugin’s files).

WP Core – WordPress, by default, comes with a few image sizes (small, medium, large, and thumbnail) – You can edit these from within the WP Settings > Media settings.

New Image Sizes – You can create new image sizes with this plugin.

When you Rebuild Thumbnails, WP should generate the image without cropping provided that is the setting used when creating the new Image Size. If it does not, then it’s most likely due to 1 of 2 things:

    a) The Rebuild Thumbnails plugin is not accepting the Image Size for some reason
    OR
    b) the image dimensions are not a size that allows for the size to be created without cropping. This can happen when an image is abnormally sized (extremely wide or extremely tall).

Another plugin that can be used for generating thumbnails is Regenerate Thumbnails or Force Regenerate Thumbnails.

    Thank you.
