Thank you. You Nailed it. The culprit was CKEditor. You don’t know of a plugin that gies the same thing, do you?

thanks t-p. I’ll let you know how it goes, but it may take a couple days. After a recent bout with eye cancer, my vision is minimal.

I am using WordPress 3.4 and CKEditor 3.6.2.5.

Yes. I can add images by CKEditor’s image dialog with no trouble, but I am an administrator. If a reader (who is not an administrator) tries, he can see the image dialog and fill it in, but when he clicks OK, no image appears in the comment.

That does not apply, because readers do not have access to the maid default WordPress editor.

    Only CKEditor.

I am unfamiliar with both firebug and the server error log.

    Thanks
    Tom

    In reply to: Database error

Thank you so very much, Figaro, for those great vids. I have been fighting a database error for about two weeks, and since my wordpress was installed back in the day when volunteers did if free, I knew absolutely nothing about what goes on under the hood. I followed your instructions to create a new user and password, made the changes, and it works!!
