  • I have a related question:

I have a website already set up, at https://www.denvermediation.info. After a while I purchased another domain name and set that up as a URL redirect…so if you type in https://www.justiceforall.cc it will take you to https://www.denvermediation.info.

Ok, so now I have the Justice for All name registered as an business with the IRS and want that to be the main central URL that everyone uses and sees. If I go to the WordPress controls and look for the set up, I think under “General,” and change the URL to https://www.justiceforall.cc will that mess up the whole URL redirect that’s set up already? I’m thinking it should just simplify it so you type justiceforall.cc and you get taken to justiceforall.cc but I’m afraid to do it in case it screws something up. Can anyone please elaborate on this? Should I call GoDaddy first and ask them to disable the denvermediation.info?

I have a similar situation with WordPress, a hosted site. Is there any way you could please help? I’m new to programming and WordPress and so don not understand some of this.

I have a WordPress site hosted through GoDaddy.com. I created the site theme and set up the site. It worked great for months. Then today I called GoDaddy to get a domain redirect URL and while I was waiting for the URL redirect to take effect I logged into the WordPress back-end to begin editing and updating the site. The computer I was on froze and had to be rebooted while I was logged in.

When the redirect finally took effect, the site is up but I cannot log in to my WordPress back end no matter what I do. I know my username and password to log in. It has worked for months, but now it does not work for either URL and my e-mail address does not work when I tried to reset the password. So I’m stuck with a hosted WordPress website that I cannot edit or add to in any way since I can’t log in and can’t request a new password.

Is there any way you could please help?

The plug-in worked great, but it took a day to actually appear on the dashboard. Strange, but it works great. The other idea, which looked like a javascript redirect script put into the header (I don’t know PHP or CSS yet, so forgive me if I’m off) also looks like a great idea for future reference. You guys rock, so thank you both very much. Please feel free to visit my site and let me know what you think.

Hate to admit this, but I don’t know how you “upload to blog root directory.” Since I have a theme/template, I’m unclear how you access this level of control or find where this is.

I’m used to doing HTML and messing with Joomla, so I’m still learning WordPress. Do I go to Appearance, then Themes, then Editor, but then what? I don’t get the next step.

Can somebody please help with this question?

I want to insert a link to my amazon associate store on my WordPress website. If I create a new page, it will create a new link on my site navigation, which I want. The problem is that it also creates a new page and so far the widgets that I can find all look tacky or don’t fit a page appropriately. How can I create a link on my web page menu (at the top of the page) that will link directly to the amazon associate page without having to have a page with a tacky link in it? Isn’t there a way to add a link to the top page navigation that will go directly to the Amazon associate store site? If so, how do I do that?

The website is thewriteway.cc and the navigation that I’d like the link at is at the top of the page with the folder tabs.

    Thanks for the help.

I did as you said. Went to Admin, then Posts, then Categories, then under the heading General I clicked on Edit under that. I tried to change the title from General to Links and changed the slug as well. Then I clicked Update and the page said “Category not updated.”

Am I missing a step somehow? Is there another way to do it?

I called my blog category “General” since I didn’t know what else to call it. Now that I have several blog posts, how would I change the title of blog category from “General” to what I want?

This did not work. I went to Dashboard. Clicked on Edit Categories. Changed the name of the Category and the Slug, but when I clicked on Update Category, it said “cannot update category” or “did not update category.”

I would like to ask a different question about the NextGen Gallery, please:

I went ahead and did the update. Many images on my site are of scanned newspaper articles and clippings from magazines from many years ago, so not all of them have come out as clearly as I’d like. If I try to enlarge some of the images, they get more blurry or it just doesn’t seem to matter because of the quality of the image. Is there any way to use the NextGen Gallery so that unclear images could be enlarged or made more clear?

Can you please explain what the Library is for, under Media, and what it does? Also, is there any plug-in to enable javascript?

So, if I have not changed any of the coding itself, just made selections and uploaded images into a gallery, it should be unchanged when I update?

Is there anything like Civic RM for WordPress?
