None of the questions are answered, EventBrite did not know about the plugin when I e-mailed them, no screenshots, no installation instructions except “standard” comment. I wouldn’t.
My guess is that this is a “dead” or inactive plugin. The questions are not responded to. I wanted to download this and try it, but there are no installation instructions except the “use standard” statement and no screenshots. I e-mailed EventBrite about this plugin and they had no idea what I was talking about.
OMG! I don’t understand why no one would respond to this, as it sounds pretty serious. If this plugin did this to your site, what happened? Did you find a different plugin to enable a membership-type application? Did you try posting this to their company forum?
Ecwid is the only e-commerce platform I use with all my clients, whether they like it or not, because it actually works and their support forum gets back to you within 48 hours most times. But…you shouldn’t need updates to the plugin if you log into your account and copy and paste the categories code and just paste it into the page (make sure it’s in HTML editor) and embed the categories code. It will just plop them into that page. I mean, you really don’t even need the plugin in the first place because you can just log in to your account and copy and paste the code for their own version of a “widget,” from categories, to random products (I think) to store or checkout bag. Hope that helps a little.

In reply to: [Events Made Easy] [Plugin: Events Made Easy] No automatic Payment OptionI tried this, too, and it’s kind of useless if people can’t actually register and pay online, otherwise why not just link to a meetup account or set it up some other way? I installed the plugin and completed each setting page and get nothing but a page describing the event. I could do this on my own. There’s a calendar widget, but it doesn’t display events at all and when you click on the event it’s impossible to register or pay and the page doesn’t show up when it’s made public – so I’m kind of lost with this. It looks great but does nothing at all. I could create a page myself, create a PayPal link and then create a text widget called Events. Maybe that would be easier. I’m confused and just don’t get it.
I’m lost. This plugin appears to do nothing at all except look good. I installed it and there is no page appearing even after I saved it and made it public. There is no way for people to register for the event even though the settings are set. Obviously there are several steps left out of the installation process. I have this plugin set up but can’t use it for anything. What steps am I missing?

In reply to: [Events Made Easy] [Plugin: Events Made Easy] Fatal ErrorFranky, GoDaddy is the world’s largest web hosting provider, like BlueHost or HostGator. E-mail going through a domain name such as [email protected] would relay through the web hosting provider. Since e-mail messages are being relayed and servers are involved, it seems logical to assume [email protected] and similar e-mail domain addresses would be effected.
What I’m asking is would this glitch effect e-mails being sent through domain name relays or e-mail addresses such as [email protected] or [email protected]? Gmail and Yahoo e-mail services use relays and servers as well, although differently. So does a “regular” e-mail address screw up this plugin’s effectiveness as well or is it just that the e-mail function to this plugin simply does not work?

In reply to: [Events Made Easy] [Plugin: Events Made Easy] Fatal ErrorWould this type of issue be relevant to a self-hosted WordPress site using GoDaddy?

In reply to: [Spam Free WordPress] [Plugin: Spam Free WordPress] Stopped WorkingMy website is broken now. I deactivated the plugin and deleted it and my website still will not allow anyone to post any comments in any way on pages or posts and it’s useless as a blog. No matter what I change the settings to under Discussion settings, no one can post comments on any pages or posts and I have in set at enabled. Is there any way to reverse this? I wanted to have a website that people could post comments on about articles and now that function is dead. If I create a new theme will it work again? Can you please help?

In reply to: [Spam Free WordPress] [Plugin: Spam Free WordPress] Update Broke ItI actually deactivated the plugin and deleted it, and now my website is broken. No matter what I do, no one can post comments on any pages or posts no matter what the setting is. Is there any way to fix this or am I just stuck with a website that won’t accept comments now? Is there any way to reverse this? I can delete the theme and try to install a new one and hope that works…but my blog is basically garbage without people being able to participate in any way now. Can you please help?
I did not have any cache-related plugins or issues and don’t now.
So I don’t know why it didn’t work for me, but when I tested the installed plugin out on several web-based preview services, to see what the website would look like on mobile previews, it was as if nothing had been installed at all. No change whatsoever.

In reply to: [Meetup Widgets] [Plugin: Meetup Widgets] Did Not Work for MeThe plugin appeared when logged in but simply did not display as promoted or work as promoted. This is with all 3 secret key codes or API codes needed. When I logged out and looked at the site, it simply didn’t work. All my other plugins worked fine. I did not have a caching plugin enabled or used in any way.
I have to agree and am “over” this plugin. BuddyPress is alot more work but at least you know what you’re getting and it works.
As I’ve said before, I’ve tried this plugin and installed it and couldn’t get anywhere with the counter-intuitive programming. I’ve also checked the websites of people who said they’d installed it and nothing was there, just blank.
It’s much easier and time-consuming to go to Bravenet.com or some other web-based forum system that will simply give you what you need, post their ads, and then be done with it, if you want an easier forum other than BuddyPress.
I don’t know if this plugin works somehow or not, only that I tried it, tested it, and after several hours of trying to figure out why nothing appeared as it was supposed to and no one could register or login, I just deleted it and gave up and went on to other web-based forum providers who also provide free forums that work simply and actually respond to e-mails quickly.
Been there, done that, got the t-shirt, done with the drama.
