Does the option to stop ads appearing on specific posts/pages only apply to posts?

I’m trying to use this option:

“Add the post/page id to the post/page id ad filtering box.”

I go to “Global Filters” where I add my page IDs …

To the right I select “Never Show In” but the box below only shows my post categories. That’s where I was expecting to see pages from which I could prevent ads appearing.

I guess I’m missing something very obvious (?)

Or do I need to use one of the other options listed in “How do I stop adverts from appearing on my contacts form page?”?

I’ll just have to cut the script every time I look at visual then paste it back later. A real pain.

Thanks for confirming what seems a major weakness (IMO).

Any idea if the TinyMCE-Advanced (or any other) overcomes this issue or whether WP are likely to remedy it at any time soon?

Since my last post I’ve rearranged all the parent pages in the tree & they are now staying where I expect them to be. If I create a new parent it goes to the top of the tree.

I’m still finding that child pages move to random locations under their parent. If I place all my child pages under their parent then order them alphabetically I can return to the tree after editing a page & find that it has move to a random place on the tree.

Has anyone else experienced such behaviour?

I hadn’t realised that I can login with a new account then delete the previous account.

I’m not DB savvy so regarding option 2 …

It isn’t an option to delete the old account as it is fixed as the default one.

The link to “Otto’s reply” above makes it clear that there’s no advantage in creating a complex username as is suggested on many blogs. The key seems to be a very complex password.

Now I find myself with a username that I’d prefer to change in light of this new information. But as this username is the default username it isn’t an option to delete or change it.

I’ve heard that this could be achieved with the WP-Optimize plugin. Is this worth considering?

I don’t know which plugins might interfere with it. All seemed to be okay until the last upgrade.

Is there a list of plugins that might cause a problem?

Or a way to check?

So am I the only person who is having this problem?

Here’s a more detailed explanation of the same issue:

I am having problems with this plugin when I re-order pages.

(1) In the page tree if I move a file at root level, leave the dashboard then return to it I see that the file has moved to some random place that I did not choose.

(2) Also … the default page list in the WordPress dashboard has also changed since I moved a file in the CMS Tree Page View. Now I see an alphabetical list of all child pages but I don’t see the parent pages.

Now I see:

Blue oranges
Green apples
Green bananas
Green oranges

Before the problem I saw:

Apples
_Blue Apples
_Green Apples

Bananas
_Blue Bananas
_Green Bananas

Oranges
_Blue Oranges
_Green Oranges

You can see that #038; crops up in a few places.

I repaired the database as instructed in:

Any items in the “Overhead” column were repaired & now that column is empty.

It did not solve the appearance of the 2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2s

None of these worked.

I referred the issue to my hosting company who couldn’t work it out either.

They suggested that:

“I believe there’s also a setting within WordPress that will store some files locally to make the admin area faster”

Is that of any possible significance?
