Hi,

Duplicating the widget may help only to distinguish the visual way of widget function, not really to do multiple filtering with it..

1. You can achieve this with tags, just tag posts with “import or export” word. But if you use tags already for something, then you need to create Custom Taxonomy, and then tag all posts with “import or export” in that custom taxonomy.

2. Since you want to filter 2 taxonomies at the same time I suggest that you use widget capable of such filtering:

p.s. It’s also possible to do this with custom fields, but form my experience filtering with custom fields was not a success…

Finally Another software architect that knows what he talking about…

I totally agree with all your points, and another thing to consider would be that if you delete the post or disable, it would affect the SEO therefore I recommend the move option to “expired” category or hide posts, something like to exclude from search and listing… but to be able to bring people from goggle etc and offer similar posts… working on that now…

check out this developer, I believe he would be capable of doing this in no-time since he already made a very useful addon plugin for feedwordpress

Try to set permalinks to “post name”, this might help.

I had similar situation when I imported same feed more than once, and had deleted posts (not permanently-just trash) which meant that the permalinks weren’t same after second import… then I deleted all posts imported with that feed (permanently) also images imported from that feed and then I imported complete feed all over again with only this addon activated (all except first 3 options checked) and all other auto thumbnails plugins turned off.

Hope it helps, otherwise you might try if it does the same with different feed?

You can achieve this with other plugin which allows you to insert link to custom field, but if you import posts it would not be possible to do it with WPematico…

Description of what I’m actually looking for…

That the results page lists groups of posts, so when we search for “serial” the
RESULTS PAGE would list groups:
– found X number of posts with “serial 1”
– found X number of posts with “serial 2”

but instead of doing that i came up with an idea and
I think that this could be achieved if the “serial custom field plugin” somehow generates pages named by “serial custom fields” having shortcodes inserted. Generation could be done with cron or publish/update detection… anyhow, pages would represent the groups of posts with same custom field.

Then the search could be done with “page search” plugin, which lists only pages with specific keyword…

I would appreciate any help for achieving this.
