Hey, maybe a beer? I guess sometime communications are hard, specially over email…please let me be more “organized” maybe it will help me being clearer ??
1) The Events Widget Title is translated OK through WPML, so I know that part of it works (that’s the part I said was working OK). The Widget text for “No events” – “No events today” is printed straight to the site, WPML does not see it.
2) https://imgur.com/Z0bK6tW – this screenshot shows my page in French. The circled text “No events today” which I wrote in the Widget is not translated – it should have read “Pas d’événements aujourd’hui”.
3) Angelo’s solution – WP Appearance > Widgets > Events widget > No events text – I was already editing the text in the Widget, I guess that’s where the confusion started. I thought he meant to change the text “No events today” to “No events” so that it would be the same text as per the EM settings/formating/events page to take advantage of the EM+WPML plugin translations there (There is the text “No events” that you can translate which I did. But that did not work either.
4)I did some tests, with variations of “No events”, No Events, etc. and nothing was translated by the EM+WPML module, nor picked-up as a translatable string with WPML (0 strings found). It’s like this bit of text does not exist… ??
5) https://imgur.com/zptdZLW – This is only to show you where I put the text in the Event Widget – 1st screen, and that I had indeed done the translation of “No events” in the settings of EM (2nd screen). But even if I have translated it properly, it does not “get picked-up or properly registered in the database or I don’t know…” because the result is still an English text on a French page as per first imgur image.
I hope that now it’s clear as a beer ??
Hi, don’t worry, if you’re confused, what of the rest of us ??
But no it did not work. Please refer to the third tread in this post. I tried Angelo’s solution without success. To make sure, I tried different variants of “no event”, also without success. So it is not picked-up by the translation in the Settings of EM. I also tried other text in this same space and it was not picked-up at all by String translation. Thanks
In the Events widget there is a space to input text for no events. Please see https://imgur.com/zptdZLW
Top image is widget
Second image is translation of no events string in the Settings of Events Manager. Thanks
Hi Angelo, with all plugins deactivated except EM, WPML CMS and EM+WMPML, the problem persists. I switched the theme to 20-14, and the problem is the same, in French, it brings me to a page not found.
No, sorry if I haven’t been clearer in my last post in not mentionning that the latest version was 5.5.3, but I did updated to 5.5.3 and the problem still persists.
Hi Angelo, do you mean that when you go to my site, your able to view the page https://www.domain.com/fr/events/2014-06-15?limit=3 or do you mean that in your installation it works?
Cause, I’ve rechecked and I am still experiencing a 404 page in French, when I click on the date Juin (June) 15 on the small calendar widget.

Thanks
Hi Angelo,
I tried that and it does not work. I’ve notices that in the settings the text is “No Events” with a capital E, while in the widget it’s “No events”. So I changed the text in the widget to “No Events” and it did not work. I also tried other text in the widget setting to see if something was conflicting and no. The text I add in the widget does not get picked-up by String Translation in WPML, and the No Events in the settings does not translate in French, although the translation is done in settings. Oh and forgot to mention the problem persists with all plugins disabled and with update to latest version of EM

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] 404 on single events with pretty permalinksHi, just to let you know, I just downloaded the plugin and had the same 404 errors on single page. Deactivated all plugins and reactivated them and the issue went away.
