  • wpthebee – had the same problem of Ninja crashing my WP admin/dashboard (I couldn’t even run Ninja at all, it just crashed my site on activation).

I deleted the Ninja plugin folder manually by FTP and my site is now functioning again.

Have used All-In-One before with no problem.

However, I am unable to restore back-up file from my test site to a GoDaddy hosted domain.

The GoDaddy site gives me an error message when trying to install All-In-One:

    Could not create directory. /home/content/p3pnexwpnas09_data03/70/2629270/html/wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-wp-migration/

    Thanks for that Tara.

I’ve no access via Dashboard, but have been able to get at the files using the host control panel. So fare I’ve tried a couple of your suggestions

Renamed the plugins folder: still no access to Dashboard
Renamed current theme, forcing default to Twenty Fourteen: still no access to Dashboard

I’ll try your suggestion of renaming the plugins folder later and, if no luck, then a manual update.

I’ll let you know how I get on – thanks for your help :o)

OK, no problem, will do that Tara.

    :o)

I’m having similar problems – I’ve tried to update the site to WordPress 4.1.1 today by using the standard ‘update’ system from within the site’s WordPress Dashboard.

The process seemed to be taking a very long time and I left it (supposedly updating) for around an hour and a half, without navigating away from the update screen.

The screen never changed (in my experience WordPress updates take around a minute and full install only 2 or 3), so I clicked on the menu to go back to the Dashboard home.

I get a completely a blank page with this error message:

“Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_json_encode() in /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage21/th/eg/eo/thegeorgeinnfrant.co.uk/public_html/wp-admin/includes/misc.php on line 668”

    The website itself remains visible.

I guess I’ll need to do a manual restore via FTP, but the instruction say to deactivate all plugins. As I no longer have access to the Dashboard, I’m not able to do that.

    Any suggestions gratefully accepted.

    Update…

Manually deleted files from server and uploaded si-contact-form.zip directly to the server using the server’s control panel (not via WordPress).

Unzipped file on server in plugins folder and, hey presto, it works :o)

Tried updating to v2.7.2 through WordPress, but same problems. Repeated above steps for the upgrade and, all works fine.

Very handy, elegant and flexible form system, thanks.

    Thanks Mike.

Have manually deleted the si-contact-folder and tried reinstalling both via WP interfce and downloading/uploading.

    No luck either way.

Have checked permissions on the server and I have full read, write and execute permissions.

Latest install error message (seem to be different every time):

    “Could not copy file. /public_html/wp-content/plugins/si-contact-form/captcha-secureimage/audio/P.wav”

Other plugins seem to load/update OK?

    Hi,

WordPress newbie here working on my first site from last week. Tried si contact form on WordPress 2.9 and it worked fine.

Updated to WordPress 3 yesterday and si contact form bombed.

I deleted the old version of si contact form and attempted to upgrade to latest version though the WordPress Dashboard, but I’ve been unable to install it after 7 attempts. Other (unrelated) plugins have been upgraded successfully.

Error messages vary but include ‘cannot write folder public_html’ and then ‘Destination folder already exists. /public_html/wp-content/plugins/si-contact-form/’

    Any help greatly appreciated.
