I am hosted at Godaddy so I did a history rollback. This resulted in a different error message identifying a particular plugin. Deleted this plugin and the blog is now working.

I was viewing my blog through Firefox. In Firefox it is a real disaster. After reading your reply I looked at in Internet Explorer and while there are some formating problems it doesn’t look as much the disaster that it does in Firefox—normally it is the other way around.
