There was an error in the staging site setup so it didn’t automatically make the config. I figured out the information it was asking for and plugged all that in, but then it created a new install of WordPress.

There are some other posts on here that talk about how you can try to avoid getting errors in the first place. (I haven’t been able to yet.)

If you use the new install of WordPress, you have to make sure you point the table in the config to the table for the staging site. The code is listed on the installation details in the plug-in. If you look at my other recent posts, you’ll see an answer from Rene talking about what to do.

    Hi,
I got into the main site. I’m deleting the staging site now and will try again, hopefully without any problems this time.
    Thanks

Thanks, but the problem is it won’t let me into the main site so I can get that table code. I tried a made up table code on the staging site config so it was different from the main site’s config, but the login credentials are still not working on the main site.

Then I deleted the config in the staging site to try to force it to go back to the main site (the main site config is there and hasn’t changed), and now when I try to login to the main site, I get the message below:

    unused

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Thanks for your help. Once I can get back into the main site I redo all the staging and change the config table code.

    Thank you!

But now I have another problem. The staging site seems to have taken over the username and password and I can’t get into the main site. My login wasn’t working, so I tried the Lost Password to reset it and it says that there’s no user with my email address.

When I go into myphpadmin for my main site, I can see my user account (with my email address) and one I created on the staging site. But those logins are only working on my staging site and not the main site.

How can I get back into my main site so I can find the staging table name?

    Thanks

This happened to me as well and this was the red error message but I can no longer access it.

AHHHH Got the site back. The filters.php was in the Library folder. I found it in the new download, resaved it over the changed one through FTP and the site is back and my admin is working again. Definitely won’t do that again!

Thanks for your help anyway, Esmi. It was good to know someone was out there. ??

No. I just downloaded the theme on Monday and have been making changes to the CSS file all week, but that’s all I’ve done. I thought it was weird too. But when I opened the zip for the Arras theme download just now, I don’t see a filter.php file in there. Unless it’s saved in a different folder than the other php files.

Do you know anything about the filter.php file? Is it generated when the theme is installed?
