well 7 months after this post and I am STILL having this issue.

Nobody seems to know how to fix it. It happens on no other site apart from WordPress and even changing themes, plugins etc does not help

No browser makes a difference and even does it on the tablet. It started when ajax started to be used and this stupid customise page came about

Hold a widget and that’s it. It is then permanently fixed to the mouse
Using customise since the upgrade that just went on says I have no widgets at all!

I am seriously stressed now ??

I just found multi site plugin manager but again, not updated for 5 months…. Is this still okay to use?

I have Fixed it! I found an old admin plugin on sitewide activation and removed it

As I said, I have the FRONTEND page working and they are on that.

Ok, thanks but none of this has helped I am afraid

I am with Hostgator

I already have had an automatic update work so I know it does work

and I am still stuck with this error message and if I try and update WP manually it puts me in maintenance mode again. In fact I can do no updates of anything since I had this error

I am on VPS and have been running my site now since 2004

It turns out mine was the theme I was using (Edu Blogs) I removed that and all is fine now

I went to open a new post today to check it and I got this error

No I am not using BP. I deleted it and it stopped working after an upgrade of WordPress.

However, I am using a template now and that is working well.

Thank you. I have set as resolved.

What I have done is to copy wp-signup.php page to a template.

I then edited the page Register that BP had made, to use the new template.

Members can now signup again.

Still would like to know why it is redirecting though ??

sitewide forums didnt work either. Do you know if I can backdate this stupid BP?

It has a LOAD of errors and I do not understand any of them. Seems like I will have to scrap the theme which is a shame as I have had lots of really nice comments on this theme ??

Yes I did the update wizard. It said it was all made and working. The activity then appeared but I just get this error when I try and use it.

Theme Check plugin? I will go find that
