Thanks for testing (again). Searching for filenames seems work for me. But another bug in 0.7.1 is, it doesn’t work if you choose “All languages” in WPML. So I pushed 0.7.2 to Github:

If you still can’t search for filenames, some have reported that MSE doesn’t work with List mode in Media Library, they need to switch to Grid mode to get it work.

I’ll do more tests later. Just report your findings here, I’ll keep follow up.

I just realized the 0.7.0 is basically not working at all (if you search for alt text, caption etc.), so now it gets updated to 0.7.1.

Hey there, the front end media search form supports the PDFs search too, so does when you search from the Media Library (the back end part).

As to the media type filter, sounds a good idea and I’ll see if I can integrate it in the future release. Thanks!

hey Can you please make sure that you’ve set the custom taxes “hierarchical”?

I used another plugin called Custom Post Type UI for registering “Test Taxes” (see the image above) and it also works.

Can you tell me how do you register that custom tax? In your theme or plugin? If in the plugin, please let me know which plugin so I can test with it.

My guess is that the custom tax registered later than my plugin so I can’t get them to show in the settings. This can be improved if you can provide me more info.

Hey the files need to be uploaded within the Media Library to show in the search results. If you uploaded a file with FTP, WordPress wouldn’t’ know it exists, neither would this plugin.

I’m not quite understand what did you mean “Delete in Permanent Mode”? Did you mean deleting the posts all at once without trashing them first?

As to the second request, it was planned so it could be available in the **future** release.
