I have the same issue. Since the 2.0 update my page loads very slow. I never upload files larger than 1920X1080 and use small thumbnails. My page loaded in 2-3 seconds before the 2.0 update.
Just ran a P3 Plugin Performance Profiler test, Nextgen stands for more than 95% of the load time – with sometimes over 25 seconds in load time.

I have no idea how to solve this, i will follow this thread and hope somebody can help ??

I checked with my provider, everything is fine on the server side they say.

Ahhh, i found it:

Gallery – Options – Gallery:

Checkbox this:

Add hidden images – If pagination is used, this option will still show all images in the modal window (Thickbox, Lightbox etc.). Note : This increases the page load.
