    I have noticed in the last week or so that the bibliography is no longer displaying automatically. I have tried emptying the cache and that works but only the first time the page is refreshed. Zotpress in WordPress will not bring up the library collection name and does not bring up any tags. Any help you can provide in resolving this will be greatly appreciated.

    Just to add, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin. And have tried updating the style. It seems to be a problem which has arisen since the new update. I am racking my brains as to what could be the problem. Currently we have have the main bibliography page and eight other pages which use Zotero, so there is a lot of missing information on our website.

    i’m also with problems, I can see my bibliography page and use the search function, but when using the in-text function, my pages can’t upload the information (citation and footnote reference), showing several continuous spinning weels trying to upload the information that is stored.
    Any problem with the plugin?

    @saphsa I see it — loads first time but then spinning wheels on next page visit or reload. This suggests a JavaScript issue but I don’t think I modified any JS files. I wonder if it’s a plugin conflict? Can you try either (a) disabling all plugins (that were updated) and see if Zotpress works, or (b) disabling one at a time until/if it works?

    Thanks Katie. I tried de-activating all the plugins and this has not solved the problem. For me while I can add the main group to Zotpress it will not pull in the folder publications that they are all in, or the tags, so it is just showing top level items. I feel that this is causing the issue. I can get our IT to look at it deeper but just wondered whether it was something caused by the new upgrade as this is where the problems seem to have stemmed from? Look forward to hearing from you.

    It’s difficult to say, but the last few updates were about caching and changing the database, not how items from Zotero are retrieved or formatted in Zotpress. I also can’t replicate the error, but perhaps you could send me your API ID and key, as well as some shortcodes that aren’t working? https://katieseaborn.com/contact

    Hi Katie,

    I have the same issue at my website OPK (https://opistobranquis.info).

    1. I do: Zotpress-Accounts-Clear Cache
    2. Load a page with bibliography (i.e. https://opistobranquis.info/es/K2XeS), bibliography loads nicely from the server and displays correctly, but with a message “There are no citations to display” at the end.
    3. If reloading this page, or visit it again after having visited it previously, no bibliography is displayed.

    By reading previous posts, I tried deactivating every plugin and trying again to no avail.

    My guess is that displaying bibliographies from cache does not work properly, at least with my use of the shortcode:

    [zotpress tag="Flabellina affinis" style="entomological-society-of-america" sortby="author" order="asc" target="new"]

    It happens with any browser I have checked (Chrome, Firefox,…), both in desktop computer and mobile devices, and fails since Zotpress versions 6.2.1 or 6.2.2 (I don’t have a clear idea of the precise moment). Version 6.2.3 didn’t show any difference from version 6.2.2 regarding this issue, which I already detected but had not the chance to report.

    If I clear the Zotpress cache it works just fine for the first bibliography display of every page, but second time the page is visited it simply does not work at all.

    Any advice?

    I see that it’s working that way on your page. But I can’t replicate it on my own end (using your shortcode but one of my accounts). I refresh and it still works.

    I agree that it seems to be retrieval from the cache. The question is why, since it’s working (retrieving from the cache) on my end without problems (I’ve also checked my testing shortcodes and they’re working.)

    The next step is to have me do live testing on your site. I’d need FTP access to the Zotpress folder. Contact me if you’d like to try.

    By the way, I see that it’s making the request but just not getting back any items (“data”). So it may be specifically connected to retrieval from the database.
