• After google informed me that my site wasn’t being compressed, I tried putting gzip rules in the .htaccess file, but did not get any change. I called the host and the technician finally enabled php compression.

I now get the Zlib Output Compression Enabled! error. I contacted the host via email to see if they could help with the issue, and received the response that gzip compression typically doesn’t work on their servers due to their configuration.

I am a novice as far as WP Super Cache is concerned. Should I ask the host to disable the Zlib compression (or use one of the methods itemized in #21 in the FAQ)?

If I can disable the host server php compression, can WP Super Cache be configured to apply output compression using php or some method other than gzip, so that google search is placated? Thanks for any help!
