Zip uload and manual upload not working

  • The .zip option for uploading a new theme directly through the Manage Themes panel does not work. It consistently gives me a server timed out error.

    I have read that it may be a php upload file size limit issue. I will have my hosting increase this limit to 4 megs.

    Hang on, there’s more. I have directly uploaded the files via FTP into a folder in wp-content/themes and still the Manage Themes panel does not see it.

    What am I doing wrong? Any assistance would be appreciated.
