Zip Code Field Not Displaying

Pardon me for the VERY SLOW reply. I had thought i sent a reply on the 23rd however am not seeing it posted above. My apologies.

The page in the billing/shipping address zip code area displays correctly. However it does not display in the credit card form area (although i believe this used to).

Also, for the current site, ive had to revert back to paypal credit card processing. You can view our staging site which has the square checkout still implemented: https://www.staging2.avalongolf.co/

Steps for testing
1. add product to cart: https://www.staging2.avalongolf.co/product/performance-no-show-golf-socks-gray/
2. Proceed to checkout: https://www.staging2.avalongolf.co/checkout/
Here you will see the square checkout area (which is failing during checkout). Again, im not 100% sure why its failing, however was reported by a lot of customers trying to checkout. One customer mentioned was an issue with zip/postal code field not showing (which in my tests, it did not show either). And MAYBE, as a result, transactions fail when click Place order button.

Thanks for the additional details on the checkout issue and no worries about the slow reply we’re here when you need us.

From reading the previous exchanges, I understand the concern when customers can’t finish their purchases smoothly. If the Zip Code field isn’t showing up in the Square checkout on your staging site, this could be why transactions are failing. On my end, however, like my colleague, I do see the zip code (screenshot: https://snipboard.io/jEhz4R.jpg)

To move forward, could you please clear your site and browser caches, then test again? As it might be a visual error due to browser cache. Also did this issue just happen recently or is it an isolated case for a specific customer?

I also saw you intended to share a screencapture, but I didn’t see it in the reply. Could you try uploading it to a service like snipboard.io and share the link here?

For some reason the zip code field is now displaying on the staging site (im wondering if this is because ive disabled WP-Rocket?). I cannot replicate there any more however i tried to re-enable on my site and upon my test, the zip code field still isnt displaying (and ive had to disable the square checkout option again as a result (its a live working site).

I will mention that i have tried to clear site and browser cache’s multiple times (as well as cloudflare cache) and it did not fix the issue. So i can confirm its not a cache issue. Per the above comment, im wondering if its a WP-Rocket issue? Have you seen this before (i believe WP Rocket is a pretty common plugin) and if so, is there any suggested settings for the Woocommerce Square plugin?

As far as screen capture, sorry if it didnt attach in my previous message. Please see the screen capture here: https://snipboard.io/29tLnh.jpg (and even after entering card number, expiration, CVV – the zip code field still does not appear (maybe its something to do with the formatting of the credit card field area being cut off (formatting shows a bit different in the staging site). Im really at a loss here and hoping to get this figured out so i can revert back to using square for credit card processing.

Could you share the System Status Reports of both sites?
I want to compare both sites and try to figure out what is causing the issue on the live site.

Additionally, could you share a screenshot like this but with the browser’s Console tab open?
I want to check for any JS errors. The page layout appears different so I suspect some resources are not loading.

Once I have more information, I will be in a better position to assist you further.

Thanks for sharing additional details. Based on the comparison I noticed that two sites have different WooCommerce square versions. The live site is running version 4.8.4 of the WooCommerce Square plugin, whereas the staging site is on 4.8.3, could you testing with the same version? Also about Theme Overrides: The live site has a WooCommerce template override (avalon-golf-co/woocommerce/checkout/thankyou.php), which the staging site does not. Depending on the changes made in this override, it could affect checkout behavior. Could you confirm if from your test, the live and staging site have the same issues?

Per the above comment, im wondering if its a WP-Rocket issue? Have you seen this before (i believe WP Rocket is a pretty common plugin) and if so, is there any suggested settings for the Woocommerce Square plugin?

Regarding this, great catch on the WP-Rocket plugin potentially affecting the zip code field. WP-Rocket is known for its caching features and sometimes it might conflict with other plugins. We recommend excluding the checkout pages from WP-Rocket’s cache. You can do this by adding your checkout page URLs to the “Never Cache URL(s)” section in the WP-Rocket settings. Also, re-check if you have any minification or lazy-loading features enabled that could be causing the layout issues seen in your screenshot. Sometimes these settings can affect up how your checkout form looks and works.

We are able to exclude JavaScript or .css files from the minification. What would be the path to the Square payment plugin (so i can exclude this)? I understand you still have some concerns regarding the template overrides and WP Rocket cache.

Do you think this has something to do with the WooCommerce template override?
Are you referring to the styling of the checkout? If so, we’re using the Shopify-style checkout plugin from WooLentor (and it’s live on both staging and the production site).

A template override means that a WooCommerce default template file (like checkout/thankyou.php) has been copied and customized in your parent theme or child theme. Since you’re using the Shopify-style checkout plugin from WooLentor, it’s possible that it’s overriding the WooCommerce checkout template and affecting how fields are displayed. Even though the plugin is active on both sites, differences in configurations, CSS, or JavaScript loading could cause issues.

To troubleshoot, I suggest temporarily disabling WooLentor on the live site to see if the field appears. If it does, then WooLentor might be influencing the issue.

Regarding other active plugins, some can modify the thank-you page. The most likely candidates for this include:

• WooCommerce Email Template Customizer Premium
• Woo Discount Rules PRO
• ShopLentor
• B2BKing Pro

Try deactivating these plugins one by one and observe if the changes.

No worries, it’s not a silly question! I would be glad to answer your query. To exclude Square payment plugin files from minification in WP Rocket, you’ll need to know the plugin’s file paths. Generally, the Square plugin scripts are located in: /wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-square/

The handles used by WooCommerce Square might include names like: wc-square-js. To exclude these in WP Rocket: Go to Settings > WP Rocket > File Optimization. After that, test if the zip code field displays correctly.

And in this case, i will need to wait until this weekend (i will do testing early in morning before we get a lot of traffic). Then ill report back.

I should also mention, zip code field is being auto populated in the staging site (NOT on production site). Im assuming from this is being pulled directly from the billing zip code field. So im wondering if this is where the issue is? If you want to dive in more on my site, you will see 2 Credit Card option fields on the checkout (i need to leave the paypal credit card processing as default as its a live site). The square option is the one that shows 4 card icons (paypal card processing shows only 3 card icons).
