I have just update my Seo plugin on several sites, and to my big surprise it is all about money now.

The metatags is completely dissappeared and all I can do now is click on buttons where it is expected that I will buy something.

This is in my mind absolutely not the meaning of open source.

I will immediately start looking for something better. This is the worst thing I have ever experienced with WordPress.

And in addition it is very dissapointing that someone from Yoast don’t even respond on the reviews her and on the questions in the support forum.
It seems that they do not bother at all. And this is really a bad customer service.

    Hi @koesterandersen,

Sorry it’s taken us over a year to get back to you on this one. You can still enable the metatags. We disable them by default because they are useless: https://yoast.com/meta-keywords/.

Almost a year has passed since your review. We’ve made a ton of changes to Yoast SEO and would like to invite you to give the plugin a new try.

    Thanks!

    Hi benvaassen

    Thank you for your answer.

In the meantime I have started using Genesis themes from Studio Press, and here I have all the possibilities I need. And I do not always get the information that my content is too difficult to read. Anyway…good luck with the changes and your plugin.

    Hi @koesterandersen,

    Thank you for your reply!

In our more recent updates, we’ve added functionality to disable entire parts of the plugin, to allow you to use only what you need. Since the plugin is becoming more and more modular, you can just disable the parts you don’t like. Don’t want Yoast SEO to be in your admin bar? Hide it. Don’t want the Yoast SEO content analysis? Disable it. It’s all possible now.

In your review, you wrote that our plugin isn’t open source and we force you to buy. Do you still feel this negative about us? What would we need to do in order for you to change your mind? Because it would really mean a lot to us if you’d be willing to reconsider your review. You can change your review here.

    Thanks for your time!
