I’m using Postie with a WordPress installation and an email address from the same hosting provider (Bluehost). It often works fine, but sometimes an email does not get posted. I’ve duplicated the issue while having Postie run manually, and it seems that there is an email sitting in the inbox (viewed by webmail), but Postie says there are zero messages (in the Debug output).
As an aside, I’ve tried to test it with other email providers (yahoo, mail.com, Arvixe) and with all of those the POP3 connection times out. This is only important if it sheds light on what the problem might be with my “normal” Bluehost email connection.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’ve very happily relied on Postie in this same configuration for several years and never had a problem before now.
    Thanks in advance!

Postie by default only uses “unread” emails. So if you look at the email in the webmail client then Postie will not read it. You can change this by setting “Ignore mail state” to “yes” and Postie will use all emails unread or not.

Bluehost does not allow connections to these other email services from their servers.
