    Hi there

    Why are images in the Our Focus Widget bound in as background? Pro / Cons…

    I would bind them preferred as images as it gives me more options. But that’s just my pov.

    What’s best practice? Lets discuss ??

    Cheers

  • Hi,

    Sorry but I wasn’t able to understand this question. They appear as icons, not background. Am I getting anything wrong here? ??

    Hi there,

    their element is background

    inspect a picture in the focus section to see

    e.g.:
    element {
    background: transparent url(“https://demo.themeisle.com/zerif-lite/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/parallax.png”) no-repeat scroll center center;
    width: 100%;
    height: 100%;
    }

    Cheers

    Oh yea, I forgot that it uses style="..." not href="..." with image tags.

    Why would you think using it as an image is better practice than the current one? ??

    Hi there,

    my thought is rather straight ??

    The task is to insert an image on the page. The image is not supposed to serve/function as a background.

    That’s where i set my preference serving the task on hand. Which would leave me further with standard image formatting options e.g. caption, alt, seo options…

    Again, just my thoughts for discussion.

    Cheers

    Hi there

    Just a quick look at Team and Testimonial Section are processing images as such.

    Thus, why there and not in our focus?

    Cheers

    Hi,

    Sorry for the late reply but I was down with some health issues. If we add it as an image instead of background then we get a lot of issues with the styling, especially with borders. ??

    But you made a great point about alt and captions. If you want you can write a little post here what I’ll forward to our developers from our side. ??

    Hi there,

    Yup the alt and captions are the missing part here to enable it properly for search engines/SEO. SEO options should be weigh much higher than formatting matters though.

    Again, I am thinking straight here… The task is to insert an image on the page. The image is not supposed to serve/function as a background.

    Just my thoughts for discussion.

    Hi,

    I’m forwarding this thread to our developers for them to take a look, and consider this for an upcoming update. ??

    Hardeep

    You are right. It’s better to use image instead of background.
    We will make changes about this issue in a future update.

    Cheers

    Does the mentioned issue was changed in 1.8.2.3. update?

    Hi Alexandra

    I just checked Zerif Lite Version: 1.8.2.3 on this matter and it doesn’t seem to be fixed yet.

    The Icons/pictures in the our focus section are still processed as backgrounds.

    Cheers

    Has this been solved yet?

    Hi there,

    Images in the Focus section are still processed as backgrounds.

    Anything we could do to resolve this? Zerif users might loose the SEO race against others here ??

    Cheers
