• This update (Version: 1.8.5.5) totally trashed my client’s website. Why would you release an update like this? The home page is a mess even though all the past customization features are there. Why, Why, Why?

Update: Unfortunately, the topic is something I experienced last Fall when one of my client’s website became unmanageable due to the WordPress issue with Zerif. ( https://wptavern.com/zerif-lite-suspended-from-wordpress-theme-directory-300k-users-left-without-updates ).

I am a small business with only 25 or so clients and this issue caused some loss of income from a very good client. We managed to resolve the issue by installing another premium theme but obviously, we basically had to rebuild the client’s website.

I fully understand the sometimes WordPress high-level decisions can be difficult but it caused much grief on my end not to mention unpaid hours for the rebuild.

I have used ThemeIsle for other clients and they are very happy but that episode definitely impacted my trust and commitment with ThemeIsle during that time.

I discovered that Zerif Lite has been removed from the WordPress theme repository due to “infractions”. I will have to move to another theme. The news is here; https://wptavern.com/zerif-lite-suspended-from-wordpress-theme-directory-300k-users-left-without-updates

    Hi,

First of all, we are really sorry for this. Yes, as you mentioned before, Zerif Lite was removed from the repository, and we are now in the process of getting it back there. This required some major changes (that shouldn’t have affected the existing users, but due to the fact that so many users used the theme in different ways, with different child themes, different customizations, it seems some of the sites, experienced some issues ). We are really sorry for this, but the theme was not supposed to be set live yet, but due to some issues, that didn’t depend totally on us it did.

We are trying our best in helping everyone, we just need more details from everyone, to see exactly the way things happened for each of you and what we can do.

Again, we are really sorry for this, and hope we can help everybody.

    Regards,
    Rodica
