[zeeMagazine] Creating customized #head or #head_left

I like the way the sample template for zeeMagazine has different colors and sizes of text in the title where #head or #head_left is located. When I put my title in the settings and saw it appear in that area as huge black text, that was not what I expected.

Is there a way I can put an image in there? I created a 450 X 40 px image that could fit in the #head_left area with the title text the way I’d like to see it. How can I put it there?
