Zakra Unable to Add NextGEN Gallery

  • I am working in Zakra, which I am beginning to really regret (or is it an Elementor issue?). I have had so many errors and there are so many things that take a lot of fiddling in order to make changes, if changes are even possible. I have spent days now just trying to get things to work as expected.

    At any rate, this current issue: I have created albums in NextGEN and would like to place them in my pages in Zakra. This isn’t working. The button that NextGEN says should be showing, isn’t. In Elementor -> Zakra, the only place that I see NextGEN options are if I go to edit Elements -> WordPress. Then I see NextGEN Widget, NextGEN Media RSS, and NextGEN Slideshow. If I place one of these (NextGEN Widget), it doesn’t act like NextGEN says it should. There is code that is placed, but very little options. The code on the page shows [ngg src=”galleries” display=”basic_thumbnail”]. The text editor shows <!– wp:paragraph –>

    I have tried to make changes to this to choose a specific gallery, but it returns Server Errors.

    There is a button Add Gallery, but it opens a blank popup and just hangs there “waiting”.

    I tried to paste a screenshot here, but was unable to do so.

    If anyone has a suggestion for a better image editor to use with Zakra/Elementor, I’d be happy to try it! We intend to purchase the Pro version…I just need to know that it is going to work smoothly first.

  • Hi,
    I just checked the NextGen plugin on Elementor and there seems an issue on the Add Gallery while using the text editor. You can ask about this issue on NextGen support.

    Alternatively, you can add Gallery from the plugin using the Elementor Shortcode widget as instructed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZ8cFDWLRfY and their documentation.

    While checking the plugin is working fine on normal page with Zakra theme. Let us know if you still get the issue.
