LOVE the plugin! Just having a minor issue with z-index…

When I use the default code:

    [dd-parallax img="imagename.jpg" height="600" speed="3" z-index="-100" mobile="mobile-image.jpg" offset="true"]

Text to be overlaid on the paralllax window

    [/dd-parallax]

The text shows up, but not the image. I played with the z-index setting, and discovered that changing it to z-index=”10000″ makes the image show up. But now the overlying text doesn’t show up. Any ideas for how to make it so both the image and text show up?

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hi.

Interesting issue you’re running into. Your theme has a high z-index for the content on the page. I’ll take a look and see what I can come up with. Give me a little time.

    Thanks ??

Great! I noticed the plugin is new but it works really well so I thought I’d give it a try. Hopefully you can find a fix ??

I looked at your page, and it looks like removed the plugin.

Sorry – I moved it to this URL temporarily: https://www.henschenassoc.com/preview/home-test/

I think your theme may already include a parallax function, or you’re using the visual composer which includes a parallax… yes? This could be causing some problems for you with respect to this plugin.

Yes, my theme does use Visual Composer – which includes a parallax-like effect, but I don’t like it :-/

If you go to https://demo.qodeinteractive.com/strata/home-7/ you can see Visual Composer’s parallax effect in the “credit card” area (green background image appears/disappears, in addition to scrolling).

I don’t like how this looks, so was searching for an alternative. Your plugin works GREAT (and is simple to use)… I just can’t figure out how to get the text to appear on top of the image.

If I sent you wordpress login (or a copy of the Strata theme) for testing, would you be willing to take another look? Or is making the plugin compatible with Visual Composer a lower priority for you? (if so, I’ll understand)

    Hi,

I don’t use the Visual Composer, it’s not really in my cards. Me myself, I typically build custom themes and don’t use templates.

Unfortunately, I can’t make this plugin work on every theme. Your theme uses a lot of layers with the z-index specified. This is probably the reason that it’s not working for you.

No problem – thanks so much for taking a look. I will definitely use it on future websites (ones that don’t use Visual Composer). Best wishes.
