z-index..

hi,
i’m trying to force a template to do what i want… and by now the template is winning..
i have a first post which is larger than the average so that only on homepage i change the looks of the site making the rightbar go down as much as it is necessary to make space.. i achieve it by using a widget which is only present on homepage with a transparent gif in it. in this first post there are buttons which go even where the widget should be.. but they are not clickable. looks like widget is on an higher level (z-index)
i tried to change z-index to container, sidebar, rughtbar, widgets and everything but nothing changes.. any idea? here is the address: https://www.skch.it/pv
