    Hi,

I got the following message (posted below, after this question) in my admin dashboard. Is Youzify now compatible with the newer BP theme or will I need to install the BP classic addon to maintain compatibility between BP and Youzify?

    Here’s the message:

Get ready for the brand-new BP Rewrites API!

Our next major version (12.0.0) will introduce several large changes that could be incompatible with your site’s configuration. To prevent problems, we’ve built the BP Classic Add-on, which you may want to proactively install if any of the following cases:

Some of your BuddyPress plugins have not been updated lately.
BuddyPress 12.0.0 introduces the BP Rewrites API, which completely changes the way BuddyPress URLs are built and routed. This fundamental change requires most BuddyPress plugins to update how they deal with BuddyPress URLs. If your BuddyPress plugins have not been updated in the last few months, they are probably not ready for BuddyPress 12.0.0.

You are still using the BP Default theme.

You still use a BP Legacy Widget.

If any of the above items are true, we strongly advise you to install and activate the Classic Add-on before updating to BuddyPress 12.0.0.

    Hello,

    Thank you for reaching us

That message come from BuddyPress and indeed seems they will release a new version with major changes. But don’t worry, we will keep our eye on it and make sure each BuddyPress version will fully compatible with Youzify.

    Best Regards, KaineLabs Team.

OK, but in the past I was told that Youzify was not compatible with “BuddyPress Nouveau,” so I right now I have the legacy templates enabled –which is why, I think, I’m getting this message. Is Youzify now compatible with the Nouveau templates?

    Thanks

    Hello,

At the moment Youzify is fully compatible with Legacy only. However, there are only few issues with Nouveau.

What are the few issues, before I try to switch back? I switched to Legacy from Nouveau quite a while back as I found that with the Nouveau templates enabled I was unable to do things like upload a user avatar, cover image, etc. I

    Hello,

    1. If a user (Let’s call user A) Send Group Invitation to another user (let’s call User B) to join a group, And then User B will receive that invitiation. But please do not click link on the Notification page. Please go to the Groups Directory and click Join for Group X. So user B can not join the group. It will only showing?loading?icon.

    2. Nouveau has Blog Page feature where this can not displayed on Youzify at the moment.

But the almost of core features are working fine with Youzify.

Well, I tried Nouveau again…this time the content on some pages got quite narrow. I was able to made the content wider with CSS, but the grids on some pages like groups were still overlapping.

    Hello Cheryl

Can you please send me a screenshot regarding the issue and the page URL so I can investigate further?

    Hi,

Sorry about the delay. I had disabled Youzify and was considering just going back to BuddyPress standard…which I still may do but I like the extra options Youzify offers.

However, for various reasons I want to enable the Nouveau templates. When I do so, pages like groups or the member directory get narrow as seen in this photo:

    https://nimb.ws/KmB5sc

With legacy activated they are not like this and the profile page is not affected

Additionally, when I have BP Nouveau and Youzify both activated the BuddyPress Nouveau settings disappear from the WordPress customizer.

I can’t give you an active link that you can check, unfortunately, as I’m not keeping Youzify enabled right now until either fix this or decide to either just not use Youzify or go back to BP Legacy.

    Thanks
