Youtube / Vimeo videos?

Any update about resolving the YouTube issue? Is there even a way to embed YouTube into ANF?

Many sites embed YouTube videos in Apple News. We don’t know why your site isn’t working, but we do have a task in queue to review it.

As before, we can’t guarantee a time to resolution as there are many competing priorities, but we hope to have some feedback by the end of the month.

Version 1.0.8 is now live which fixes this issue. Many more embed formats for YouTube and Vimeo are now handled. We tested all of the examples that everyone in this thread provided and they are now working properly for us.

Please update to the latest version to resolve your issues.

Bradford – Thank you! It works! So glad to finally have Apple News working properly for me.

Bradford – Actually, it would appear only Youtube videos are working currently. Just had a test with Vimeo and they’re still non-existent. I also noticed that Issuu embeds that use an iFrame also do not show.

We can’t handle every embed type, so if Issuu isn’t working you might need to write a custom component for that since it isn’t common and won’t ever be part of the core plugin.

With regards to Vimeo, can you please provide a link to the specific post in question? Also if possible can you paste the contents of the “Text” tab in the editor here as code?

The BaconEggs BMX crew up in Canadia have been cooking their full-length "348" video for a while now, and it looks like we're getting closer to seeing the finished product. They just dropped a bunch of leftover clips that didn't make the cut for the final video online for you to get your eyes on. Although these are leftovers, there's plenty of goodness to take in. I am still not able to make it happen… after the 1.0.8 update… would someone please paste here a sample code of an article with an embed youtube video that works so I can try on my website?

I’ve tested that exact code locally and it works fine for me. Can you download and post the JSON file that Apple News produces for that post?

Also can you confirm what plugins you have installed?
