I don’t think your problem is related. When I visit that post on your site (https://www.ronsworld.nyc/dylan-mcdermott/) I see an image placeholder for a video and when I click it, it plays in a modal window. I don’t think the YouTube video is included in the source of the page in a way that the plugin can detect it.

It looks like you’re using a plugin called YouTube Embed Plus, so that could be the potential cause. Unfortunately, if that’s the case, we can’t support third party plugins but you’re welcome to work with any of the numerous available action and filter hooks in the plugin to make it compatible.

I tried adding the plugin last night in attempt to maybe have the YouTube video be visible to your plugin but as before without the plugin there is just an image placeholder and no video in the AppleNews Article generated by the plugin.

I have no disabled the plugin as well as the Featured Image on the page itself… yet the video still does not show up on the Apple News Article the plugin generated:

Your request is in the issue queue amongst many others. I can’t guarantee when it will be solved, but it will be looked at for sure.

So meanwhile there is no other way for me to post on Apple News?

We can’t prioritize every request to the top of the list and nor can we guarantee a timeframe to resolve. I can definitely tell you we’ll look at it soon.

I did notice today that Instagram videos do load on Apple News, but it obviously uses a much different code than Youtube or Vimeo. Just figured I’d mention it.

@kurthohberger – Update: If you edit the post, the YouTube video reverts to the text link. Bummer!! For now, un-publish the post from WordPress and re-publish it. The answer to the other question, the content type of the post is listed to the right of the article while editing.

ftcpublications – Not sure what you mean? I post around 15-25 posts a day, so it’s really not realistic for me to post, un-post and re-post posts for the sake of making a video show up for Apple News.

I’m not seeing anything for the content type on my screen, either.
