• Hello. I have added a youtube video on an Elementor container background. The video is not playing unless the user accepts the cookies. Why is it blocking video from playing? Is that normal?

    Thanks

    Hi @more2think,

    Greetings from CookieYes!

This issue is due to the blocking of YouTube cookies before consent.

To make this work before consent, you should move all the YouTube cookies to the Necessary category. But this will affect the compliance of your site.

While moving cookies to the Necessary category, please make sure that it doesn’t store any personal information of the visitors. Also, consider seeking legal advice to ensure you’re meeting your obligations under GDPR and other relevant regulations.

Sorry for the late reply. So I guess the same applies if I use Vimeo or any other video hosting, right?

    Hi @more2think,

This?applies to all the services that set cookies.

Hello, I still have the same kind of problem with the videos- I moved all of the youtube cookies to the necessary category, but all of those cookies reappeared in the promotions category on the next day. They were duplicated in both categories- necessary and promotions at the same time. I tried to check the privacy mode in video settings, but it also didn’t work. Any ideas?
