youtube shorts have big space before embed (+ workaround)

  • Not sure if just a heads up or a bug report: when I tried embedding a “YT shorts” video (with an URL like https://youtube.com/shorts/VIDEO_ID), the resulting embedded video had a pretty big empty space before the embed.
    I changed the URL to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIDEO_ID, and now the extra space is gone.

    If I’m not mistaking the /shorts/ one will not have been handled by LYTE anyway hmijail, there’s no explicit support for that in the current version of the code ??
