  • Hi there, you don’t alwaysneed a plugin, but I think the easiest is
Smart You Tube, simply grab the url of the video and add v to the http so the address becomes httpv:// and thats it.

Another favorite is Vipers video quick tags, also easy to use.

    good luck with your videos.
    mke.

Unfortunately, Smart Youtube suddenly stopped working after doing all recent updates. Not able till now to have any explanation.

Hi, you need to give at least a little info, the version of smart youtube you’re using and the version of wordpress you are using.

Unfortunately, Smart Youtube suddenly stopped working after doing all recent updates. Not able till now to have any explanation.

W’re not mind readers, and a url can always help.
    mike.

Sorry, I had actually posted all details on another entry (no reactions there). See here:
“Smart Youtube 2.8.1 on WP 2.7.1: all blank (1 post)
Not seen any related topic. Previously the plugin was working very well on my two blogs. Recently there were plugin updates and now I realize all my YouTube’s on the blog are gone – there is a blank space only. Happens with identical blog configuration on two servers. All should be OK but nothing. I am using Firefox 3.0.6 on MAC. Tried with Safari, same. Thought China had blocked YouTube – not the case either (I am in Beijing). Any idea anybody? See https://rotaryclub-beijing.org/?p=656 as one example.”
Further to note: we are still in the dark here if there might be any connection with the Chinese Firewall as some people complain about YouTube not being available. Incredibly enough, I wanted to give you another really “suspicious” link – https://blog.strategy4china.com/?p=2139 and guess what – seems suddenly OK again, as well as the link above.
In other words – it could really be the Chinese f###### censors.

Thanks, Mikey! I’ve been trying to figure out why my blog wouldn’t embed the YouTube video and the httpv:// tip totally solved it! Thank you!
