Hi, I have an issue on multiple websites. For some users that have already accepted all cookies there is just a blank space instead of the youtube video. If they change their preferences to decline all cookies, the placeholder appears. If they click on accept it disappears again.

I am using the default Elementor video widget and I enabled the integration for it in the complianz settings.

    What could be the issue?

    Hi @badrian,

I’ve tried reproducing the described behavior on a fresh WP site with the latest Complianz, Elementor and WordPress versions; but this seems to work fine. Please find my example page here.

Could you check if there’s a difference with your implementation that might be the culprit?
    Kind regards, Jarno

    Hi @jackmac71,

The behavior sounds similar, although it seems that your question concerns the Presto Player plugin instead of the Elementor Video widget as mentioned by the original poster of this thread.

If you create a separate thread for your issue, and provide the URL of an affected page in the field Link to the page you need help with, we will gladly take a look at that behavior too.

    Kind regards, Jarno

    Hi @jarnovos ,

there surely are plenty of differences. I now have 3 websites on which I observed this issue. Could it be related to caching?

    Hi @badrian,

It could be. If you provide an URL to a site that experiences such behavior, we can take a look and share our findings as to the expected culprit.

    Hi @jarnovos ,

thanks for your quick reply. So as I said the issue exists for returning visitors which, I guess, have accepted the cookies.

I just observed the problem on this post: https://brodos.net/omnichannel/unsere-tipps-fuer-filialisten/
I previously accepted cookies for that site and when I visited it now the video was invisible. I tried to update my preferences, so I declined all cookies, then the video/placeholder appeared.

I know that others had the issue on these URLs aswell:
    https://brodos-adventureclub.com/adventure/safari-in-afrika/
    https://bushcamper.com/videos/

    Hi @badrian,

It looks like the common denominator between these sites is the SiteGround Optimizer, so I would suspect that there is one specific feature enabled in this plugin which results in the described behavior on these sites.

Debugging such situations is oftentimes a process of narrowing down the potential causes, so what I would recommend is to disable individual optimization features one-by-one, clear cache after each setting you change: until the behavior is corrected.

And at that point, you’ll know that the last optimization that you disabled was very likely to be related to the issue.

    Kind regards, Jarno

@jarnovos I am experiencing the same behaviour … Elementor/YouTube … on this site: https://tregearbpm.accurateexpressions.com.au/videos/ (pwd: roger)

But I’m not using SiteGround Optimizer. Any other suggestions please?
