Youtube Lightbox video

    I am using video block from Greenshift https://greenshiftwp.com/video-block/
    which can embed YouTube videos but it opens them in Lightbox popup so the video won’t load or connect to google servers until the visitor clicks the play button.
    Is this method considered GDPR compliant enough or and do I have to declare YouTube cookie in Complianz settings?

    Hi @alexgraphicd,

    While I can’t provide legal advice; if this method indeed prevents the connection to YouTube (and therefore it’s cookies etc) before clicking/playing the video, I’d say that this approach should suffice.

    Though I would additionally add a notice that YouTube cookies will be set when playing the video, and include a link to your Cookie Policy.

    If you want to be sure that Complianz doesn’t affect these video elements anymore, you can disable the YouTube integration under Complianz -> Integrations -> Plugins.
