Can someone please tell me how to fix this issue? I went into google and enabled the apis that mentioned on another ticket but still not working. I have no idea what this means and need to get this fixed as I have a lot of traffic being pointed to these videos.

Error type: “Forbidden”. Error message: “The request cannot be completed because you have exceeded your quota.” Domain: “youtube.quota”. Reason: “quotaExceeded”. Location type: “”. Location: “”.

Check in YouTube if the id PL1haIIzm5I7aVfeS0DwLNN-Fp6I6RRqGh belongs to a playlist. Check the FAQ of the plugin or send error messages to support.

  • Me too just different ID

same here! and for me the id is a playlist!

Created a new Google API browser key, and it worked. I also enabled a 24 hour cache of for the plugin so you don’t exceed your youtube request quota. If you don’t add a new podcast daily, we should extend the cache.

question: does the api key have to be from the same account that the youtube channel is associated?

meaning, does my client have to get an api key so i can put their channel on their website or can I get an api key with my own google account for this to work?

The error is assuming that you’re exceeding your quota for requests from YouTube, but really it appears isn’t allowing access to the Google API for YouTube. I enabled the cache so that I wouldn’t exceed that quota in the future. When Google updated their API’s, I guess that meant we needed to regenerate an API key. I use the api from the same account associated with the YouTube Channel. I don’t know if you can use yours and assign it to them.

same issue. not entirely sure i understand what you guys did to solve it.

i’m messing around with W3 cache now to see if i can change caching for the plugin. does this also mean if we get a high amount of visitors it’ll throw the same message?

    thanks

Same issue. I generated an API browser key, but don’t know what to do with it. Nor do I understand how to enable a 24 hour cache of the plugin. The problem continues.

How do you get an API key? [edit] no worries, got one now. Still getting the same error message though. And I had cache enabled.

[Update:] OK fixed it. Created API added it, cleared cache. Don’t add referrer info (or if you did, delete and then regen the key). Added it to the widget, restored the cache and bingo, all is good again.

This has instructions to get the api key:
    https://hayageek.com/google-api-key/
But I still don’t know what to do with it to get the plugin working again.
    Anyone?

same problem here…. hope to see a solution on this thread.

got API Key… here’s the new error message:
Error type: “Forbidden”. Error message: “There is a per-IP or per-Referer restriction configured on your API key and the request does not match these restrictions. Please use the Google Developers Console to update your API key configuration if request from this IP or referer should be allowed.” Domain: “usageLimits”. Reason: “ipRefererBlocked”. Location type: “”. Location: “”.

I’ve created the new API now I get the following
Error type: “Bad Request”. Error message: “” Domain: “”. Reason: “”. Location type: “”. Location: “”.

    Solution:

Create a new API Key for yourself here:
    https://console.developers.google.com/

Then go to edit this plugin’s file:
    youtube-channel-gallery/youtube-channel-gallery.php

Search for the lines where it is assigning the variable ‘ytchag_key’ to a default api key, and change it to yours (better to copy that line and comment the old assignment just in case).

Save the file and the video gallery should work again. This worked for me.

    Cheers!

I followed the instructions above but it didn’t solve the issue.

would anyone mind providing a more complete guide?

it was easy to find the ytchag lines by using ‘ctrl f’ and searching for ‘Alz. that produces 9 results although only 3 of them appear on the screen, so i changed those.

the only other thing i can imagine i did wrong is setting up the key, i selected a key for web browsers, then just used the default settings
