• Hi!

I’m currently updating my site on Localhost and I’m having trouble with resizing Youtube embeds, of which I have quite a few. I was using the [youtube url=URL&w=350&h=250] shortcode, but that appartently doesn’t work anymore since all videos are full size now. I had a look at the Codex which suggests [embed width="123" height="456"]URL[/embed], but that doesn’t seem to be working either. I attempted to resize them using Youtube embed plugins, but still no change.

How can I change the dimensions of these embedded videos in a way that works across all browsers etc.? I’m not sure why all the suggested methods aren’t working. Thanks!

  • Just use the iframe embed code directly from youtube, it scales the video to fit the screen, dependant upon the width specified.

Oh, sorry, forgot to add that to the post. That’s also one of the methods I tried and the video was still full sized!

Edit: still playing around with it and the video does appear the size it’s supposed to be in the post editor, so I think this is a theme issue. Is there any way around this with CSS or something like that?
