Youtube embed not showing preview image on Chrome

  • I noticed that when I embed Youtube videos to my blog posts on Chrome browser the preview screen is blank. However, when I use Firefox browser I can see the video preview images.
    Example:
    <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/1sIWez9HAbA?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

    I also tried to add the direct url:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sIWez9HAbA
    but still didn;t work on Chrome

    Then I tested the old embed code from Youtube and that did the trick for Chrome.

    Any ideas why only the old embed code is showing the preview image on Chrome browser?
