• Hi there,

I’ve researched this topic extensively and have not found a solution, so I am starting a new thread to see if anyone else is having this problem and hopefully find a solution! ??

    Here’s the issue:

I have hundreds of YouTube videos embedded on our site: https://sportsnetworker.com

To date, we have always used the iFrame embed code to embed videos in the HTML editor. Here’s an example of the code we’ve always used:

    <iframe src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/JRIRnS9I7xQ&#8221; height=”350″ width=”655″ frameborder=”0″></iframe>

Up until the past few days, this code has always worked.

However, just today one of our authors tried to embed a video using that style of code and it did not work. Rather, we received an error message on the page……here are a few examples to explain more clearly what I’m seeing:

    YouTube Embed Test #1

    YouTube Embed – 3 versions (FRONT): https://www.sportsnetworker.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/YouTube-3-Versions-Front.png

    YouTube Embed – 3 versions (BACK): https://www.sportsnetworker.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/YouTube-3-Versions-Back.png

Now, in these examples above you’ll see that the second and third versions work (Old Embed Code and WordPress Embed Code versions)

But, when I remove the iFrame version from the page…….the Old Embed Code no longer works. Which leaves me with one option……..the WordPress Embed Code. Here’s an example of what I’m talking about:

    YouTube Embed Test #2

    YouTube Embed – 2 versions (FRONT): https://www.sportsnetworker.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/YouTube-2-Versions-Front.png

    YouTube Embed – 2 versions (BACK): https://www.sportsnetworker.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/YouTube-2-Versions-Back.png

Now, all this being said, at least I have a version that works (WordPress Embed Code)…..so going forward I can instruct all of my authors (40+) to use this code. But the problem is I have 100’s of videos embedded in existing published posts that no longer work because they are using the old iFrame Code.

For the sake of NOT having to go back into 1000’s of posts to update all of the YouTube embed code……….I’m hoping there is a simple fix for this that I am overlooking that doesn’t require me to have to track down all of those old iFrame embed codes and replace them with the WordPress Embed Code version?

Any feedback would be MUCH appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Trevor
