I have a page that I will be embedding YouTube videos on. When I embed them using the new Gutenberg / Block Editor and select the YouTube embed block it’s forcing them all to be 1200×675 and if it’s next to the sidebar on the page it overlaps the sidebar. For now I’m forcing the video at the bottom of the page so for the most part it’s not a noticeable issue but it’s not where I want it on the page.

The video also looks HUGE when viewed on mobile since it’s retaining the size there as well. It doesn’t adjust sizes when the browser windows are resized. Nothing else overlaps with anything else.

If I change themes it works fine. I haven’t modified any of the themes files, and I’ve only added a few CSS customizations in the “Additional CSS section” to change the look of some of the H tags. I’ve removed all of these entirely and it didn’t help anything either. I can add some CSS to target the general <iframe> tag, but if I specify specific widths it gets overriden by the size that is included in the <iframe> tag in the generated page. The only thing I can get it to accept is a “100%” value for the width, but the height changes to a very small size and it looks bad that way.

This happens across browsers, computers, devices. I’m sort of at my wit’s end trying to get these videos to look good. It seems like this shouldn’t be this hard to control, yet I can’t get it to do anything meaningful with this theme and I like the theme a lot otherwise. Any thoughts/input would be highly appreciated.

    Thanks!
