youtube embed code not working

Is this a recent occurrence? Does it happen with all the plugins deactivated? A default theme?

yes, as soon as i imported my content its just showing the code. its as if wordpress is not handling the embedded code and i need a widget to automatically fix this

It won’t get solved unless you try to isolate where the problem is. You can always re-activate your plugins. ??
