I have been using Yendif on https://elizabethhagenspeaks.com for a couple years to display several YouTube videos and it has always worked fine. However, several days ago my client notified me when you click to see a video, you get the three loading dots but the video never plays. This problem is showing up in multiple browsers on at least 4 different devices, from several different IP addresses.

The Chrome console gives this error: “GET https://www.youtube.com/apiplayer?version=3 404 ()”

    Any idea what’s up?

    Thank you.

Also, other plug-ins are Akismet, Contact Form 7, Shortcode Exec PHP, and Wordfence. Everything is up to date.

Recently, YouTube stopped supporting their FLASH API. But, the version you’ve installed only support their FLASH API. This is the reason for the issue. Our next standard(FREE) version will support YouTube’s IFRAME API.

Our PRO version already support their IFRAME API. So, if you’re a PRO user,

    – Download the latest package from your account in our website.
    – Extract it, follow the steps provided in the README.txt file.
    – Then, change the setting “Engine” to “HTML5” under the plugin’s settings page.
    – Save the changes and try now.

    Hope, this solved your issue.
