We have a live feed to Youtube and FaceBook for our sunday services.

What i would like to do is set up my “Live Service” page with a link or what ever it is called so that when our feed goes live it just automatically starts playing when you go to that page.

I know how to do it with Services that are already recorded. But I am having a difficult time trying to find info on how to do the live feed.

Been searching and watching videos but I am still confused and not clear as to what I have to do, if I can do it at all.

I have the Embed Plus Plug in on the site but they have a lot of videos for support but I cannot find where to send a message to to ask about this.

    Thanks

    Bob

    Hi,

It’s not clear what you’re referring to. Are you talking about the not-live content feature shown here?

I have the Live link set up and it is functioning as I would expect it to.

The only issue I am having is that I have all of our church services scheduled in YouTube. (fcctwinsburg.org)

When one of the services comes up it runs fine after you hit the YouTube screen.
But, when the service is over it shuts down like it is supposed to. If you come back and click on the YouTube screen the next day, you do not get any video which I would expect. But, you get a message stating that you are waiting for the 11/20/2022 live feed to start. It is already over. Why is it not saying, waiting for the 11/27/2022 live feed. Or what ever the next scheduled live feed is?

    Hello @davet354tfd,
This sounds more like the direct link is embedded and not the channel. I am doing the same for our services at https://gmc-mca.org/ministries/youtube-videos/ and when the stream is finished the next stream shows up. Also, I use the “do not cache” option in my plugin to prevent the caching plugin from storing this page.
Maybe you could check those to see.

I have been through the embedplus plugin on the website and do not see anything about “Do not Cache”.
I have also gone to our youtube channel and can’t find that in the settings there either.

Can you give me an idea where this is at?

@davet354tfd if you’re using the free version, then you won’t have the caching.
Are you doing channel based live stream embedding? If so and *you have a queued live stream* then the plugin will find that. If you just use the link of a specific livestream, then you may run into issues when that specific livestream concludes.
This may or may not help you understand the distinction between channel and direct link live stream embedding: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQ5mY2WaqcI&t=218s
