I’ve got WP to Twitter configured and tweets are going out. If I use either the default URL shortening, WordPress or goo.gl, the link back to the posts work.

I then installed YOURLS locally, updated the config.php file and then configured YOURLS in WP to Twitter and set it to use post ids. The links to the posts go out as mydomain.com/[postID] but the links all return 404 errors.

What’s strange is that when you click on those links, they go to an interstitial t.co link so something is not playing nice. I can revert back to default URL shortening but would like to get this working.

    Any ideas?

The t.co pass through is normal; that’s true of all links from Twitter. Twitter passes all links through it’s own shortener, no matter the original link.

Can you give me an example of a link that isn’t working, so I can see what’s actually happening? Does the link in your YOURLS install show that it’s pointing to the right location?

Did you install YOURLS at the same root that your WordPress installation is at? If so, that could be causing a problem, because the two systems are both trying to parse the short URL.
