• Suddenly, all my blogs (self-hosted .com domains) have this message:

“Your WordPress.com account is not authorized to view the stats of this blog”

Stats have been working fine until suddenly today – no more stats.

This is for blogs where I have upgraded to 3.1 and for some I have not.

What can I do to fix this?

  • Suddenly it seems to work again without anymore update!
Probably they changed something at wordpress.com

    Mine are still out.

Me also, but now it work the same before.

what if you are someone who has no idea how to deinstall states and has no idea what jetpack is? Do I just wait for something to mend it?

In my case looks like are working but they show “#337 (deleted)” on the Post Title.

    Waiting for some light :S

    Regards

This is interesting, first my blog with Snowblind theme had the problem, but one with Socrates theme was still showing stats with Wp Stats. Then this second blog had the same problem.

After reading about Jetpack in this forum I installed it on the first blog and solved the problem. When I went to the Socrates theme blog to install Jetpack, Wp stats had started working correctly again.

Thanks to all earlier commentators for the advice on Jetpack.

I installed Jetpack – but nowhere in the Jetpack settings section does it mention stats. I am slightly confused ??

I had the same problem. I tried the fix someone advised listed here:

    https://techgoggles.in/index.php/fixed-your-wordpress-com-account-is-not-authorized-to-view-the-stats-of-this-blog/

But it didn’t work. So I had to use the Jetpack WP stats, which seem to work okay.

It seems that hovering over the bar for the daily stats, doesn’t always give you the hover box with the post published that day. Only a couple times it did give me a post published, most of the time it doesn’t list those. Not sure why it isn’t working in that regard….

I also think that it lost some of my stats from today, as the numbers seem lower than I’d expect.

I like some of the new stats features but some I don’t like. As in the Other Posts, Other Sources, or Other Search Terms. They are hyper links but they don’t expand to show you the detailed info. You can’t get it at a daily level, apparently, just if you click into a 7 day view.

I don’t get it. This thread is huge and Automattic hasn’t said a peep. They make the plugin and WordPress don’t they?

I’m getting: Your WordPress.com account, <username> is not authorized to view the stats of this blog. on my multi site install. Worked fine as of two days ago.

This forum is for www.remarpro.com – not wordpress.com.

“This forum is for www.remarpro.com – not wordpress.com.”

Um, so what? The stats plugin requires that you get a key from the .com site.

The plugin is developed and maintained by wordpress.com.

I don’t want to upload another plugin, but want my stats back!

Here’s what they’re saying on wordpress.com forum — same conversation, but a possible fix without actually activating Jetpack:

I found these instructions below and this worked perfectly for me and my self-hosted blog.

When the problem started 2 days back with the stats, I did not delete WP stats, but deactivated them.

Also when I tried to install JetPack and activate the JetPack stats I got a fatal error.
Following these steps EXACTLY brought back my stats and all the historical data.

If you have been getting this error lately on your www.remarpro.com blog then don’t worry because you are not alone. This error has been a result of a new plugin introduced but the Makers of the WordPress.com Stats called Jetpack. It is very simple to solve this problem, just Follow the Step below

    1. Got to Plugins> (Click) Add New
    2. Search for the plugin called “Jetpack”
    3. Install and activate this Plugin
    4. Now either you can got to the plugins menu and under Jetpack click on settings or under the Dashboard DropDown Click on Jetpack
    5. Connect your WordPress.com Account and Authorize it
    6. Now Don’t Click on the activate Button in the Jetpack Settings as it will give the the Following error “Module could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error. Perhaps there is a conflict with another plugin you have installed?” instead go back to your plugins menu and press Activate under “wordpress.com Stats” (as it Jetpack Automatically Deactivates this plugin)
    7. Go back to your dashboard and your stats will there as normal.

I have not tried this, as I really don’t want another plugin, even a non-activated one.
