• Suddenly, all my blogs (self-hosted .com domains) have this message:

“Your WordPress.com account is not authorized to view the stats of this blog”

Stats have been working fine until suddenly today – no more stats.

This is for blogs where I have upgraded to 3.1 and for some I have not.

What can I do to fix this?

  • That Jetpack activate/deactivate solutions sounds really weird, has anyone tried it?
There are only two posts on the thread https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/stats-plugin-stopped-working-api-problem/page/3
and the fix worked for one out of two respondents…
Is it possible that the launch of Jetpack a few days ago somehow triggered the error with wp-stats? It seems something to do with the API key.
My stats are still out, only now the message just says “your wordpress account is not authorised to access the stats”, and not that “we are working on fixing this”.
This has now been nearly 40 hours.

oops my mistake, I was looking at another thread. Most people who installed, activated, deactivated Jetpack say wp-stats work after that.
I wonder if will still work if you uninstall Jetpack altogether after deactivating it. Have posted the question on the .com forum and I will post the answer here if someone has tried it.

Just wait patiently and it will come back on its own. I had this problem since yesterday and did nothing about it and now all is back and fine ??

Great… installed jetpack. Got a message Fatal Error. Now I can’t even de-activate the jetpack plugin. I am lost now! Anyone know what to do?

I’m getting this message after installing jetpack:

“invalid_signature: The timestamp is too old.”

    ? solutions ?:

    Found this post:

I think kazzie is right — wait patiently. One of my blogs has its stats back, another blog didn’t lose stats at all…and I am confident that my other 3 blogs will get theirs back too! Just a glitch….

“The plugin is developed and maintained by wordpress.com.”

Which was created by Automattic. Really? You don’t know that WordPress.com, WordPress.org, Gravatar and Akismet are all owned by Automattic?

I have not tried this, as I really don’t want another plugin, even a non-activated one.

Bummer. The WordPress.com Stats plugin is probably not going to be maintained anymore, as it has been replaced by Jetpack.

Just uninstall the old plugin and install Jetpack instead.

WordPress (and presumably www.remarpro.com) is not owned by automattic. It’s “owned” by the WordPress Foundation:
    https://wordpressfoundation.org

My stats have been back since last night, though the “views today” stat and the daily graph totals don’t match. (Better than yesterday when the numbers changed from one moment to the next, and not because I’d had lots of visits.) So I guess they still have work to do.

If you have that message about not being authorized to view the stats of this blog, try refreshing the stats page a time or two or three. Worked for me every time I tried it yesterday.

@emsi my goodness you’re dense. Visit https://automattic.com/. It’s all the same people and my point is that if they’re changing the stats plugin, at least let everyone know instead of making us fumble around in the dark trying to figure it out on our own. If the plugin is going to be abandoned in favor of jetpack then fine, but at least let us know. </end of rant>

How odd. On WordPress.com, I get a more accurate calculation of my main blog, but on that blog’s stat page, the numbers on the graph and under Top Pages & Posts are not the same. They’re off by 7 hours.

I really hope this is all just a glitch that WP or Automattic is working on. I have no intention of downloading JetPack.

I have to admit, i have been with wordpress since the begining, but this has to be the stupidest of things to happen without even a peep of this happening, the trick above did not work, anyways why would i want 2 plugins to accomplish the function of one, STATS!

Damn wordpress get yer chit together!

problem fixed for me approx. 1-2 hours ago, hope everything gets settled for everyone soon enough as well.

as a sidenote: hope wp.com doesn’t force us to jetpack, I don’t want all those features, I just want my stats.

Mine seems to be back, though the data seems a bit off. Still, it’s back!
