Using latest WordPress and Wordfence, I’m regularly getting notifications about WP being out-of-date.

However, the system is set to automatically update.

Judging from other issues here, it looks like the WF scan is running before the (auto-)update. Is there a way to delay this particular scan to avoid this unnecessary notification?

    Thanks,
    Marc

PS: Thanks for this great plugin!!!

Hi @luxxor, thank-you for your support!

This area is currently an active development request as we’re aware scans will sometimes run and detect outdated plugins before auto-updates have had a chance to run (sometimes depending on the quantity of traffic to the site triggering WP Crons). I’ve passed your message on to the team.

Sometimes setting Wordfence > All Options > Email Alert Preferences > Alert me with scan results of this severity level or greater to “Critical” and using the DISABLE_WP_CRON constant to run cron via another method could reduce alerts. If you do choose to do this, we recommend running cron jobs at least every 5 minutes (nothing will happen if nothing is due, so won’t increase load on your server). Naturally only consider taking this step if you’re confident in doing so, as it’ll affect other plugins not just Wordfence if crons no longer run correctly.

Our changelog is the best place to keep an eye on changes in new plugin versions as we’re unable to update customers on development progress here on the forums.

    Thanks,
    Peter.
